A man's head

Our hair represents our material faith. Women normally have longer hair than men because they are less material, so they need more faith in the material world.

We have two eyes because the way we see things rationally and abstractly are separate. Or to put it in a different way, our scientific vision and our religious vision are separate. Also, this distance between the eyes gives us binocular vision which represents the different perspectives of science and religion helping us to see the truth more clearly. The eyes are high up on the head because vision is a lofty/more spiritual sense. Blue eyes represent thoughtfulness in vision, whereas brown eyes represent more fundamental qualities in vision. Our eyebrows represent our material faith in God regarding our rational and abstract vision.

As mentioned when describing the digestive system, food represents experience, so our sense of smell relates to sensing what an experience may be like before we actually experience it. Since this relates to the future and the forward direction is associated with the future, the nose protrudes forwards. We have two nostrils because as with the eyes, we sense possible experiences separately in rational and abstract ways.

Since food represents experience, the mouth represents a channel through which to take in new experiences, or also a way to express oneself.

We have an ear on each side of our head because what we hear regarding science and religion, or logical and abstract things, are so widely separated into the two extremes. And like vision, stereo sound or separation between science and religion regarding sound enables us to sense our environment much more clearly than if we only had one ear.

All of these things together represent our spiritual appearance in the world, since the head is the uppermost and most visible extremity of the body.
