Spiritually, beaches represent contact with God. This is exactly why they are so beautiful. In many people’s opinion, tropical beaches are the most beautiful, since the Sun is stronger there, so God is strongly present both as the Sun and the ocean.
Walking on the beach is many peoples’ idea of perfection, because it represents having God present in their normal lives.
